Furture Dense:
Affordable Housing in High-rise Form

Working in teams, the semester-long project is to design a residential high-rise building in the heart of East Liberty, Pittsrbugh. We developed our own precise programs based upon the client's brief, our own judgement of the site and the market analysis. The building is designed in compliance with universal design principles and sustainable design goals, as set out by the client. We worked with consultants for structure/MEP/civil/real estate.

Our design concept is "Campfire", which is a source of warmth, music, food, and endless stories to share. It is the driving force for our decisions made from the central courtyard at the ground all the way to the terracing lanterns on the top of the building.
