Saco Lake Bath House:
A Wellness Center

This project is to design a bath house at Saco Lake in New Hampshire. It focuses attention upon the experiential realm of architecture through the construction of atmospheres reliant upon form and material. It begins with designing three basins to represent hot, warm, and cold pools considering the spatial lightness and spatial heaviness afforded through wood and concrete. Then we explore the affordance of wood and concrete material systems to retain earth, hold water, serve as a thermal mass, define enclosure and provide protection from the elements.
